One bedroom is furnished with a comfy queen bed, the other with two twin beds (one is a trundle and can be stored away. We may be able to accommodate a fifth guest as well on the living room futon. The kitchen has been beautifully redone with a granite counter top and a Bosch dishwasher. The bathroom was redone as well. Cooking is a breeze in the bright kitchen which is fully furnished for cottage living. Summer evenings are usually cool, but on the really hot days, window air conditioning units keep the house cool and comfortable. There's a washer and dryer in the utility room and a one car garage, as well as ample driveway parking. The property backs up to state park property - head right up the hill to the best hiking trails in the area. The backyard has a nice size lawn, a concrete patio with Adirondack chairs, and a fire-pit. We have bikes available for use at your own risk. The area is excellent for biking with dedicated bike paths along many major roads. TSURU (means origami paper crane) is a custom designed 46ft sailboat that we occasionally cruise and race on Lake Michigan; she is available for stays at the dock only. The main salon treats you to a fully stocked kitchen with oven, stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and more. Rest after your day at beach in air conditioning at the dining table or comfortable couch. The outdoor cockpit also makes for a lovely evening under the stars! Guests have full use of the boat and may use the washer/dryer facilities in the clubhouse with a key we provide. Unfortunately, clubhouse pool is not available to guests. Poplar Cottage is a Beautiful Newly Renovated 4 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom ranch, with walkout lower level, close to Lake Macatawa and Lake Michigan. This immaculate getaway is furnished with granite counter tops, and brand new appliances. It has an open concept floor plan to accommodate time with family and friends whether you are working in the kitchen, doing puzzles in the dinning room, or watching your favorite shows on TV. But if you want to 'get away', you can slip into the lower level where there is another living area equipped with a large screen TV, Foosball table, Ping-Pong, Air Hockey, laundry, full bath, and large bunk room. This area also walks out onto a back patio where you can build a bonfire or just relax in the shade. There is also a large deck with a large grill and outdoor seating off the main level for enjoying meals together. This area is also shaded for those hot summer days. There is also a very convenient DNR boat launch and parking less than a quarter mile away. Here you can put a kayak or paddle board in the water and enjoy! Poplar Cottage is also only a mile away from Holland State Park Beach. It is a short drive, or bike ride to one of the most beautiful beaches in Michigan. There is a surf shop with kitchen and public restrooms at the beach too. you can watch boats come in and out of the channel, or enjoy a fun day playing in the sand and surf. You can stop at Mt. Pisgah on your way to the beach! It's a beautiful area with a stairway to amazing views of both Lake Macatawa and Lake Michigan. There are many venues close by which make Poplar Cottage a great location too! Many restaurants to choose from, along with a couple corner stores and ice cream shops to choose from. And don't forget Captain Sundae where you can get your ice cream and put put golf too! Bigger shopping areas and grocery stores are also within a short drive.
